There are so many amazing days in the spirit of the holidays where you will get to design ugly sweaters, cards and so much more.

And of course, you’ll have the opportunity to design with stunning Season Pass materials that are sure to help you rise up! The materials this Season are luxurious, glittery, and metallic, but also incredibly elegant. As always, our Season Pass challenges and materials can serve as inspiration on how to decorate your own home.

Here are some super helpful and easy tips on how to decorate your home for the holidays

Greenery is key

When we think of the holidays, we often think of evergreen trees, and there’s a reason for that! They’re the quintessential symbol of the holiday season. There are so many ways to incorporate evergreen trees and other greenery into your holiday decor. A large tree is an option, but miniature ones as a centerpiece or on the mantel can be showstopping. How about a few seasonal planters with some beautiful moss? Be creative, you can never have too many plants indoors!

Light things up

The holiday season is all about being bright & festive! Get some bulk fairy lights and hang them in doorways, on the staircase, or above windows. Turn them on in the evening while you sip a cup of steamy hot chocolate. If that seems like too much lighting for your style, put some battery-powered fairy lights in a jar and set a few around the house. A lit-up wreath on the door outside acts as a gorgeous outdoor accent. Whatever you decide to do, fairy lights are an inexpensive way to bring some fantastic holiday cheer into your home.

DIY it all

Feeling creative this holiday season? Amazing! You can truly DIY anything and everything holiday-related. Have some terra cotta pots lying around? Choose your favorite holiday-related color palette- we love dark red, matte dark blue, and brown with glitter, and paint them in your chosen colors. Put in some greenery or flowers and you’re good to go.

If you have a glass bowl, create your own centerpiece by placing in any holiday-related items you like- evergreen sprigs, twigs, ornaments, pine cones, truly anything, and you’ve got a fantastic conversation piece. Enjoy creating, it’s part of the fun!

The color palette is up to you

Feel uninspired by the classic red & green or blue & silver holiday color combinations? Don’t worry! You can go classic… or not. Our Season Pass materials, like our deco finishes, do offer classic options, but our pillows and throws go more in the neutral direction, with little metallic accents. It might help to create a mood board with items and colors that speak to you. The colors are totally up to you and don’t feel like you need to fit into a (holiday) box.

Make it personal

Doing research online to find ideas that inspire you is awesome, but it’s also important to honor what speaks to you, and what traditions if any, your friends and family do. And you can, of course, make your own traditions. You can make family photos in your home totally festive with some holiday frames. Or decorate a tree with ornaments featuring photos of loved ones (pets included!). And as always, honor the style of your home. An antique home is perfect for classic holiday decorations. But a more modern home will be amazing featuring some present-day holiday decor.

There are so many ways to decorate your home for the holidays, Redecorator! We really hope the challenges this Season and the Season Pass materials will inspire you to bring in some holiday elements into your home, whatever holiday you celebrate!
