One of the things that set Redecor apart from other design platforms, aside from the incredible realistic designs and fun gameplay, is the team! Our team members have a passion for all things beautiful, and that shows in their work.

This time we wanted you to meet our Product Manager, Gili! Gili’s job as a Product Manager centers around developing the newest features no one has heard of yet. She answered a few of our burning questions about her experience with Redecor, and you’d be surprised at some of her answers! Let’s dive in.

Gili, tell us a little bit about what you do here in Redecor!

I’m a Product Manager, which means I oversee the entire life cycle of a new feature, from its conception to the point that it’s live in the game for everyone to enjoy. Here’s a fun example – you know the latest Color Filter option in the Redecor app? I did that! I knew the players had wanted it for a long time and it was an honor to help deliver it. If you can keep a secret… I’m working on a top-secret feature that’s going to rock everyone’s world! Just wait and see. That’s all I can tell you so far!

We can’t wait! Can you tell us what you enjoy most about your job?

I love the fact that I can help create a better experience for our Redecorators. I get to hear what the players want and need in order for the game to become even better, I spend a lot of my time thinking about what the game needs and what can help give it that extra wow factor. I get to sit down with the tech team and help guide the development of these new features – from start to finish, I’m a one-stop shop!

Your room is in the app today and we couldn’t be more excited! What was your original design inspiration for it?

I’m a boho kind of gal! My entire house is a boho sanctuary, which I love. One of my wish list items was to have a stepladder where I can hang up some much-needed greenery. I feel like plants just give the space an entirely different vibe, no matter the design style you go for! I saw the stepladder idea on one of the design websites I follow, and I’ve been obsessed ever since.

What are you most looking forward to in seeing the players’ designs for your room?

I’m curious to see what the potential of this room could be! I’m planning on redoing it and I’m in desperate need of great design ideas. I’m also extremely curious to see how players are going to design this room without knowing what it was originally designed as! Without limitations, you can go wild and I’m sure we’re going to see some stunning designs. You know how it goes in life, I couldn’t really afford to design this space the way I truly wanted to when I first moved in. For example, that table has moved with me from apartment to apartment, and I’m not sure I love its current color with the room’s color scheme. It’s less than ideal right now. It needs a loving Redecorator’s touch, and I’m sure our players will not disappoint!

So your favorite design styles are…

Well, boho, of course, but I’m also a bit eclectic and just take what I feel that I like from different styles. Inspiration comes from where you least expect it, right? I love plants, woven fabrics, nature-themed wall art, and lots of natural elements in general throughout the room. Again, if you had to put a label on it, then I would be boho through and through, but I think that’s the beauty in Redecor – you get to mix and match, and just play with all the different materials, so you’re not confined to just one single type of design.

If you could talk to the players, what is something you’d like to tell them or ask them? Now’s your chance!

I would love to tell them that we’re trying so hard to listen to their needs and create a game that’s fun for everyone. As you know, one person might like one thing and another person might like something else, so it’s not always easy to keep everyone happy. I promise we’re trying. The goal is to create a game that as many people as possible have fun playing. I’d like to ask them what they think about the original design of my room! I bet you guys can come up with something WAY prettier though.

Thank you, Gili, for taking the time to share your Redecor experience with us! How did you design Gili’s room? Share a pic in our Facebook group, the Official Redecor Community, and Gili might see it there!
